The Bharat Ratna awardee, Sachin Tendulkar has given his signed ODI World Cup jersey from the 2011 winning campaign to his former India teammate at the time, Virat Kohli. The sweet gesture from the Master Blaster has come just hours before the ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia kicks-off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

Virat Kohli has been one of the top performers for India in the ongoing CWC 2023, scoring 711 runs in 10 innings, which includes three hundreds and five fifties. During the semi-final clash against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the 35-year-old notched up his 50th ODI hundred to go past his idol Sachin Tendulkar, setting up a new record in the process.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted the picture of Virat Kohli holding up the signed jersey of Sachin Tendulkar with a glee on his face at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The support staff of the Indian cricket team were also pictured alongside the former captain of the Men in Blue.
Notably, this is the second time in cricket history that India is going to play the final of the ODI World Cup against Australia. In 2003, at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, the Aussies got the better of the Men in Blue by 125 runs to lift the coveted title for the third time, and since that moment, they have added two more CWC trophies to their tally.
