On Saturday, March 29, Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) got their first win of the IPL 2025 as they continued their dominating run over the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians to extend their record to 4-0 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After being put to bat first, GT posted a competitive total of 196/8 in 20 overs, courtesy 41-ball 63 from opening batter Sai Sudharsan.
The Gujarat-based franchise successfully defended the total, winnignthe clash by 36 runs. During MI’s run-chase, the star GT batter, Sai Sudharsan hogged limelight as he sustained an injury while saving a boundary. Soon after going down, he was seen clutching to his hamstring and did not take the field thereafter.

Seeing him in excruciating pain, there were rumours of the GT batter missing the side’s next game, where they will travel to Bengaluru to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Speaking at the post-match press conference, Gill shared a positive update on Sudharsan’s injury, confirming that he is fine and is expected to start for the side.
The 23-year-old with his crucial knock of 63, guided GT to a competitive total. With this, he became the top run-getter for GT after two matches and is now second in the Orange Cap race, after LSG’s Nicholas Pooran, who has so far amassed 145 runs at a strike rate of 258.92 and average of 72.50.
