Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) saw veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli get into a heated on-field altercation with Australia debutant Sam Konstas. Earlier in the match, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Soon after taking the crease, the 19-year-old youngster announced himself in style, scoring 60 off 65 deliveries.

While his innings in the middle included six fours and two sixes, he hogged limelight after a being invloved in a shoulder bump with Virat Kohli. The incident took place after the 10th over of the first Australian innings. Soon afterwards, the two exchanged some words before being separated by veteran Aussie batter Usman Khawaja and umpire Michael Gough.

However, the incident took place on the opening day of the Boxing Day, the Australian debutant was seen replicating the act on Day 2 at the MCG. After Indian bundled out Australia at the score of 474, it was the visiting side who took the field in the middle. During their run chase, in an interesting instance, the 19-year-old New South Wales batter was seen engaging with the MCG crowd.

While energising the crowd at MCG, Sam Konstas was seen mimicking Virat Kohli’s shoulder bump act, video of which have been making waves on social media. As he replicated the act, the crowd was seen cheering for the Aussie youngster.

Speaking of the ongoing Boxing Day Test at MCG, at Stumps on Day 3, India had put up 358 runs at the loss of nine wickets. The visitors trail by 116 runs with Nitish Kumar reddy (105 off 176) and Mohammed Siraj (2 off 7) in the middle.
