Tokyo Olympic Gold medallist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has declared himself fit and announced that he is set to compete in the Lausanne Diamond League on August 26. Earlier, Neeraj pulled out of the recently concluded Commonwealth Games due to a minor injury he sustained during World Athletics Championship.

The Athletic Federation of India (AFI) had reconsidered its decision of not allowing javelin star to participate in the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League after the Olympic medallist showed massive improvement in recovering from a groin injury. AFI President Adille Sumariwalla on Sunday reportedly said that there is hope for Neeraj's participation in the competition as his medical reports have shown significant improvement.

Neeraj on Tuesday confirmed his participation via Twitter post by posting his picture with his kit and claimed that he is feeling 'strong' and 'ready' for upcoming competition which is slated for August 26 (Friday). He wrote, "Feeling strong and ready for Friday. Thanks for the support, everyone. See you in Lausanne."

The Indian javelin thrower is currently reckoning for the Diamon League Grand Final and sits fourth in the standings with seven points which he earned during the Stockholm's leg with a second spot finish (89.70m throw).

Czech Republic's Jacub Vadlejch is currently fifth in the standings with 20 points, followed by German's Julian Weber (19 points) and World Champion Anderson Peters (16 pts), who is unlikely to compete in Lausanne following an assault in his homeland Grenada.

Apart from Neeraj Chopra, 3000m steeplechase star Avinash Sable and long jumper Murali Sreeshankar will be seen in action at the Diamond League.
