Serbia will be facing Great Britain in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Davis Cup, according to the draws announced on Tuesday. The draw may result in Djokovic and Murray finally meeting since 2017. The game will be played in November at Malaga, Spain. Notably, this is for the first time since 2015 that Great Britain will aim to lift the Davis Cup title.
After both qualifying from the group stage last week, the two countries were placed together in the round of eight. While the World No. 1, Novak Djokovic will represent Serbia in the finals and Andy Murray, who plays from Great Britain, might once again open to the possibility of a 37th career clash. The finals will be held in Malaga, Spain, from November 21 to November 26.
With a thrilling win over France, Great Britain advanced to the finals. Dan Evans and Neal Skupski saved four match points before winning the tie-break to end the match. On the other hand, Djokovic, who recently won his 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open, helped Serbia advance from their group by defeating Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in singles.
The winner between the two sides will qualify for the semi-final, where they will square off against Netherlands or Italy. One amongst Australia, Czech Republic, Canada and Finland would then square off against the winner in the final.
