Fans slammed Punjab Kings after their poor batting prowess against Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2024 fixture. Kings hosted the 2008 winners of the cash-rich league on April 13, Saturday, at the MYSIC Stadium in Mullanpur. Punjab, who came into the game on the back of three losses in the tournament thus far, failed to deliver a good show with bat at home. The team was led by Sam Curran in the absence of skipper Shikhar Dhawan and seemed to have surrendered to the RR bowlers.
Punjab lost their first wicket in the fourth over when Avesh Khan caught Atharva Taide out by Kuldeep Sen. It was just the beginning for the hosts, and their next few wickets fell in succession following that. Ashutosh Sharma, who came to bat in at eighth remained the side’s highest scorer at 31 runs off 16 balls. Curran, who had been delivering remarkable performances for the side in previous matches walked back at six runs.
