While India won the ODI series against South Africa and India all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who was part of the team that defeated South Africa 2-1, returned to Mumbai, it wasn't quite welcome in the city that he was hoping for. The Palghar Express' cricket kitbag did not arrive at the Mumbai Airport and the cricketer was clearly not happy with that.
Not only did Shardul ask for help on social media but he also tagged the airlines, saying that this is not the first time that he has faced a similar issue. He pointed out that there was no one from the airline staff to help him too.
"@airindiain can you send someone to help me at the luggage belt ? Not the first time that my kit bags haven’t arrived and no staff present at the location either !!," he tweeted. "@airindiain Mumbai airport terminal 2," he attached another tweet.

Later the cricketer, however, did receive help and the issue was resolved. Notably, new reports have suggested that Shardul could fly to Australia along with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami after news came to the fore that Deepak Chahar may not be able to recover in time for the T20 World Cup.
As a result, Thakur could replace Thakur in the standby players and with Shami expected to take Jasprit Bumrah's place in the main squad, Siraj can take Shami's place vacated among the reserves. An official confirmation on this, though, is still awaited.
