Pakistani journalist Farid Khan got into a war of words with former India international Irfan Pathan regarding the all-rounder’s post on X (formerly Twitter). Pathan was mocking the Pakistani fans after Team India registered a historic 228-run win over their arch-rivals in the Super 4s stage of the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

After this win, Irfan Pathan posted a tweet about how Pakistan fans had seemingly destroyed their mobile phones with their T.V. sets after seeing their team lose. Pathan wrote, “khamoshi chaai hui hai kaafi lagta hai padosiyo ne Tv ke sath sath mobile bhi tod diye hai….”
Responding to this post, Farid Khan criticised Pathan and demanded being a broadcaster and a former player, he shouldn’t make such comments. Further, Khan also talked about how individuals are the first to make Grace Grace' if their team loses the game. Farid Khan’s tweet said, “Irfan Pathan bhai, please mature tweets kia kren. Aap broadcaster hain aur sirf former player nahin, shobha nahin deta aapko yeh. Next Sunday agar kuch aur result aagya toh sab se pehle aap hi 'Grace Grace' ki tweets karoge. Aise toh nahin chalta... #INDvsPAK #AsiaCup2023.”
Coming back to the India-Pakistan fixture, the Indian batting effort set up the win for Rohit Sharma and his men. Leading from the front, Sharma and Shubman Gill posted a 121-run opening stand. After their departure, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored a century each to help post a massive 356-run total.

Talking about this batting effort, Rohit Sharm said, “Fantastic performance, right from yesterday. When we started, we knew the wicket was good and we had to adjust with the rain, the two experienced (Kohli an Rahul) guys we knew they'd take time to get their eye in and then we can get going.”
