Team India is all set to take on Australia in five-match Test series, starting November 22. With the opening Test just a week away from start, the Indian cricket team has received a big news with young batter Shubman Gill injuring his finger. The star Indian batter has reportedly picked up a hand injury during the match simulation at the WACA Stadium in Perth.

If reports are to be believed, Gill has suffered a hand injury while fielding in the slips on Day 2 of the match simulation ahead of the Perth Test. However, he was quick to leave the field and did not return. With injury to him, it is not sure whether Gill will feature in the opening Test against Australia, which is scheduled to start from November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Moreover, it is to be seen that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or the team management has not made an official comment about Gill’s injury as of yet. But, this comes with Rohit Sharma still unavailable for participation in the first Test and injuries to KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan.

KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan also suffer blows ahead of first Test in Perth

Gill’s injury comes fresh after wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul and Sarafraz Khan sustained blows ahead of the crucial Test series against Australia. While KL Rahul was hit on his elbow off a rising delivery from Prasidh Krishna during the match simulations on Friday, Sarfaraz Khan also caught the blow on his elbow a day prior. 

Although Kl Rahul was looking in good touch, especially while handling short balls, he sought medical attention and went off the field. Speaking of Sarfaraz Khan, the emerging player was left injured durng the training sessions on Thursday. According to reports from PTI, the batter was doing fine and did not require a MRI.
