South Korean national soccer team member and Seoul FC player Hwang Ui Jo has found himself in a tight spot as his explicit videos are being circulated on social media. The controversial scandal involving the Seoul footballer is currently being amplified, as some obscene videos on the internet claim the involvement of Hwang. Previously, the footballer alleged that he was being targeted by ‘Revenge P*rn’, where intimate content is being circulated as a part of retaliation post termination of a relationship.

On June 25, footballer’s management company, UJ Sports, criticised the claims about his private life. The statement by the management company also called for an investigation against the individual responsible for spreading the groundless allegations. Apart from that, the company also made it clear that the content being circulated on the internet is absolutely fake. Notably, an unidentified user on Instagram shared a post last Sunday, criticising the footballer for filming private videos and storing them on his phone.

Introducing herself as someone who met Hwang earlier, the user wrote that he got involved with women as if he was dating them and then did not form any relationships because he had to go overseas again. She added, “A lot of women have experienced a similar pattern and there are a lot of celebrities among them. He is seeing celebrities, influencers and non-celebrities all at the same time and I don’t know how many victims there will be.”

However, the 30-year-old footballer released a handwritten statement and denied filming such videos. The South Korean footballer revealed the statement through law firm Jeongsol. The statement translated to, “I have not done anything illegal, which many people have been concerned about. The post that was written in the beginning is also baseless. I don’t know the person who shared that post and he or she is a criminal who threatened me by defaming me and using videos about my personal life.”

Notably, the person who leaked Hwang’s photos deleted the original tweets, but his private photos and videos went viral in no time and are being sold for 2,000 and 3,000 KRW (USD 1.53 and USD 2.29).
