One of the contenders to win the T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa has announced an incredible squad with some greats of the shortest format.  The Proteas haven't performed well in the showpiece T20 tournament and failed to reach the tournament final even once. But this year with the likes of Henrich Klassen, Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada and among others, the Rainbow Nation will look to lift their maiden World Cup trophy.

For the T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa has been slotted in Group D alongside Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal. The Proteas kick will play their first game on June 3 in New York before travelling to St. Vincent to take on Nepal.

Starting the South African XI, the Proteas will enlist the services of Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks. De Kock, one of the greatest T20 openers, will double up as the wicketkeeper and hope to bring Proteas the trophy as he enters the twilight of his career. Supporting the explosive Southpaw, Hendricks will bring control and aim to continue his form from his recent exploits in the Pakistan Super League.
