After being involved in a controversial dismissal earlier in the innings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis grabbed eyeballs for a brilliant piece of fielding during the all-important match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024. The incident took place in the 15th over of the do-or-die fixture, underway at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
With the match reaching a crucial stage and the CSK scorecard reading 125/5 after 14 overs, a brilliant effort from Faf du Plessis helped RCB get a crucial wicket of Mitchell Santner. The RCB skipper, who was stationed at mid-off, took a leap at the right time and stretched full to grab a blinder in his right hand. While it was only a surprising catch for Faf, even his teammates were left in awe of this brilliance.

After Santner’s wicket, who departed having scored just three runs off four deliveries, the CSK’s scorecard read 129/6 at the end of 15 overs with Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni in the middle.
