In a major development from the world of football, Southampton, who are on the brink of relegation from the Premier League, are reportedly set to demand more than £100 million for their highly rated teenager Tyler Dibling. With a number of clubs in the Premier League and elsewhere, including the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, targeting the signature of the 19-year-old attacking midfielder, Southampton are looking to get the best possible value out of him before their all but confirmed relegation to the Championship.
Notably, as per the report from the Telegraph, the current valuation of more than £100 million set by Southampton for Tyler Dibling has left many of the clubs in the Premier League frustrated. With the exit from the Premier League looking inevitable this summer, Southampton will have to sell Tyler Dibling, who has made 25 appearances for them in the English top-flight, in all likelihood.
Tottenham Hotspur have already identified Tyler Dibling as their priority target for next season
If Manchester City are to sign the teenager from Southampton as per their current valuation, then they will have to pay them more money than what was needed to buy Jack Grealish (£100 million) from Aston Villa in August 2021. It is understood that Tottenham Hotspur have already identified Tyler Dibling as their priority target for the summer transfer window, and to that effect, they have enquired with Southampton to sign him in January.
Apart from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig have also sent scouts to assess Tyler Dibiling’s progress regularly in the ongoing 2024-25 season. Despite the struggles of Southampton in the Premier League this season, the teenager has been a shining light, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
