Sunrisers Hyderabad zoomed into the top four after their massive 10-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in just 9.4 overs. Playing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Pat Cummins' demolished Lucknow to complete a magical victory and eliminate Mumbai Indians from the playoffs race. On the other hand, the Super Giants took a massive hit as their net run rate went down to -0.769 making their path to the playoffs extremely difficult.
Coming back to the game, LSG called it right and elected to bat first but quickly regretted this decision as they struggled throughout the powerplay. After losing two quick wickets, Lucknow could only add 27 runs in the first six overs. Abhishek Sharma smashed 75 in 28 balls with eight fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 267.86 while his partner Travis Head top-scored with a 30-ball 89 which also included eight boundaries and eight maximum as he batted at a 296.67 strike rate. Further, this partnership created a record of scoring the most runs in IPL history in under 10 overs.
