The Pakistan cricket team is all set to take on the six-time World Champions Australia, down under in a three-match Test series, starting December 14. While the Men in Green will take the field with Shan Masood taking over the captaincy reigns from Babar Azam, who resigned from the post across formats after an early exit from the ODI World Cup 2023 in India, last month.
However, ahead of the crucial series, former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram shared a piece of advice for the team. In his video the former Pakistan cricketer added that it will be the first series with a completely new look with Wahab Riaz as the Chief Selector, along with new members as consultants including Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar Anjum.
“These are present cricketers. This is their time and let’s give them at least one year to prove themselves. And one more advice, don’t hold press conferences every three minutes. Stick to your decisions and be brave,” Wasim Akram was quoted in his viral video shared on X.

“If you have taken a decision then you should know about the consequences. If you are in two minds, so will be the team,” he further added.
However, his comments on the ' sticking to the decisions' reportedly come after Wahab Riaz on Saturday, 2 December held a press conference at a very short notice to inform and clarify on removing Salman Butt as a consultant member to the Chief Selector, just day after naming him. This move was followed after massive backlash from fans for picking a cricketer who was banned in spot-fixing case.
