American streamer Tyler Belvins, popularly known as ‘Ninja’ shared a life update and revealed that he has been diagnosed with melanoma, a type of skin cancer. Ninja took to social media to disclose that he has been in a state of shock since the diagnosis. The 32-year-old streamer and Fortnite fame, who has a huge fan following of 19 million followers on Twitch took to social media and announced that he was diagnosed with melanoma after one of his regular visits to dermatologists.

Nina said that a mole removed from his foot had been confirmed as cancerous while a second dark spot is currently under examination. However, the streamer expressed gratitude for the early detection while stressing the importance of regular check-ups. Belvins wrote on X, “Alright I’m still in a bit of shock but want to keep you all updated. A few weeks ago I went into a dermatologist for an annual skin/mole check that Jess proactively scheduled for me. There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful. It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages.”

He added, “I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it. I’m grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups.”

Notably, Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that arises from the overgrowth of melanocytes, which is responsible for skin pigmentation. Ninja joined Twitch in 2011 and became a popular player of Fortnite on the platform within no time. His videos got so popular that players now pay to make their characters resemble him.
