Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the defending champions of the IPL after they secured two titles in three years under MS Dhoni’s captaincy last season. CSK are going to be one of the top contenders for the IPL title in the upcoming season after bolstering their squad with key player additions in the IPL 2024 mini-auction.
Some of the players who arrived at CSK through IPL 2024 auction were the New Zealand duo of Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell, Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, and the Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur. They also included the likes of Sameer Rizvi and Avanish Rao Aravelly, two of the brightest young Indian prospects into their squad for the upcoming season.

Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rachin Ravindra
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been the heart and soul of Chennai Super Kings at the top of the order for the past few seasons, playing a major role in two IPL triumphs in the last three seasons. He will be paired in the opening slot with the rising sensation in cricket from New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra, who has impressed one and all with his batting and bowling skills in the last few months on the international scene, especially since his fellow teammate Devon Conway is expected to be out of CSK squad due to a thumb injury for the majority of the IPL 2024 season.
