Sunil Gavaskar and Jemimah Rodrigues give musical performance at Naman Awards

During a glittering Naman Awards ceremony, organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the legendary Sunil Gavaskar and the women’s cricketing star Jemimah Rodrigues gave a musical performance for the guests to remember. Notably, Jemimah Rodrigues received an award for scoring the most runs in ODIs for India in the 2022-23 season.

The Naman Awards were organised by the BCCI for the first time in five years after it was postponed mainly due to COVID-19. Some of the biggest winners on the night were Farokh Engineer, Ravi Shastri, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shubman Gill, Deepti Sharma, and Smriti Mandhana, among others.

To appreciate the musical performance of Sunil Gavaskar and Jemimah Rodrigues, the BCCI sent out a post on their official X account with a detailed caption. It read, "Naman Awards is all about celebrating Indian Cricket, and the legendary Mr. Sunil Gavaskar, and the Rockstar, Ms. @JemiRodrigues, are taking it a notch higher tonight —an unforgettable melange of cricket and music."

Moreover, Farokh Engineer and Ravi Shastri were the recipients of the COL. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime achievement award in men's cricket. The Polly Umrigar award for the best men's international cricketer of the last four years went to Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami.

The Best Women's International Cricketer award was won twice by Deepti Sharma and Smriti Mandhana for their outstanding achievements with the Indian women's team in the last four years.
