In the match 58 of the Indian Premier League 2023, a major gaffe occurred as Sunrisers Hyderabad submitted the wrong team sheet to the referee just after toss time against Lucknow Super Giants in Hyderabad. Due to this incident, Sanvir Singh had to miss out on his IPL debut at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 13, Saturday.
During the live stream of the SRH vs LSG contest on JioCinema, one of the commentators, Scott Styris, who was alongside Abhinav Mukund and Zaheer Khan in the dugout panel, held up the team sheet of the hosts, which was titled, “Batting First.” He mentioned that they (Sunrisers Hyderabad) had to submit this team sheet to the match referee while batting first. But they had crossed out Sanvir Singh’s name and put T Natarajan’s name in it. With that, Styris reckoned that Sunrisers had crossed out the wrong team sheet, because it was made for bowling first.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad had won the toss and batted first earlier in the day. Aiden Markram, the captain, had mentioned at toss time that Sanvir Singh is going to make his IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants. But as detailed earlier, he had to unfortunately miss out on playing the game for T Natarajan.
Furthermore, in their bowling innings, SRH brought in Vivrant Sharma as an impact player for the opener Anmolpreet Singh. He wasn’t given the chance to bowl as the hosts lost the match to LSG by seven wickets, while defending a substantial total of 182.
