On Friday, December 15, Mumbai Indians surprised all by naming Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya as their skipper ahead of IPL 2024. However, there were speculations on Rohit Sharma losing captaincy after Hardik Pandya was traded from Gujarat Titans ahead of the retained-released window.

However, the franchise shared a heartfelt post for the longest-serving captain in Mumbai Indians, things hasn’t rested well with the fans and also some of the franchise players. On Saturday, 16th December, Suryakumar Yadav, who recently led the Men in Blue in a series draw against South Africa, shared a heartbreak emoji on X as well as on his Instagram story.
However, he did not clarify that to whom did it relate, but fans in no time flooded the internet, relating it in regard to the recent MI captaincy change. Suryakumar Yadav was the deputy to Rohit Sharma in MI in IPL 2023 and also led the franchise in few games when Rohit played as an ‘Impact Player’.
Additionally, SKY is not the only player who has posted after MI’s big moves. Earlier Jasprit Bumrah, the vice-captain of the franchise also shared a cryptic message on Instagram which read, “Silence is sometimes the best answer.”
