The Indian cricket team will be making their ninth straight appearance in the T20 World Cup this June in the USA and the Caribbean, aiming to secure their second title win in the tournament. Although India have been one of the strongest nations to play the T20I since its inception, they are yet to win the coveted ICC trophy in the last 16 years.
Rohit Sharma will be captaining India in the second straight T20 World Cup after their previous campaign ended in a one-sided loss against England in the semi-final in 2022. He will be looking to galvanise the team to play better cricket in comparison to the last few editions of the tournament, to give themselves the best chance to win it.

Strengths
The strength of the Indian cricket team in the T20I format lies in their batting department, with their former captain Virat Kohli owning the T20 World Cup throughout the years, thanks to his epic performances in run chases. Suryakumar Yadav is the number one T20I batter in the world, who has the ability to win matches single-handedly in the shortest format of the game, while the likes of Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube have runs under their belt in the IPL before going into the upcoming ICC tournament.
The bowling department of India will be spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, who missed out on playing the T20 World Cup in 2022 through injury. His ability to deliver quality overs consistently in all phases of innings will be complemented well by the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel, who steadily got better with the ball in hand in the ongoing season of the IPL.
