Pitch Report:
Analysis
The West Indies have emerged as an underdog contender for this year’s T20 World Cup thanks to a dominant squad and familiarity with conditions. The Windies have some of the most explosive batters in the world with the likes of Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, and Andre Russell among others in great form. On the bowling front, the spin duo of Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Moite have looked great but the pace attack remains their biggest problem.
On the other hand, New Zealand suffered one of their worst defeats in T20 cricket as Afghanistan demolished them. The Kiwis seemed extremely rusty with over 10 major missed opportunities which cost them the game. Their bowling had looked decent with Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson performing well. But their batting seems like a worry, especially on the slowish pitch conditions throughout the West Indies leg of the World Cup.
