India and Pakistan will play their T20 World Cup 2022 opener against each other on October 23 (Sunday) in Melbourne. Any multi-nation or ICC tournament featuring a contest between two arch-rivals always attracts attention and the atmosphere is no different before their clash in this edition of the tournament in Australia.
While the Super 12 stage of the World Cup started on Saturday with the defending champions and hosts Australia taking on New Zealand, the buzz over India vs Pakistan clash is breaking all records.
However, Australia's Bureau of Meteorology was forecasting 10 percent chance of any rain with 0mm for the matchday, and there might be a shower or two during the day. While it was reported that there might be 80 percent chances of rain on Sunday, with the game getting abandoned, Australia and New Zealand played the full quota of their innings without a shower.

Meanwhile, former professional wrestler and Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson expressed his excitement over the clash by featuring in a promotional video. In a video posted on Star Sports Twitter, the actor was seen expressing his excitement regarding the upcoming clash. He said, "When the greatest rivals collide, the world will stand still. This is more than a just a cricket match. It is time for India vs Pakistan."
Speaking of both teams, India is coming on the back of a comprehensive victory over Australia and South Africa in a bilateral contest, while Pakistan defeated New Zealand and Bangladesh to clinch the T20I tri-series.
