Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma became part of a school textbook. The cricketer was featured in a book chapter that discussed Sharma’s achievements before 2016. Sharma is set to lead his side in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia on November 19, Sunday. His side is currently on an undefeated streak of 10 matches and qualified for the finale by defeating New Zealand.

The chapter talks about Sharma’s achievements and milestones before 2016 and has been titled ‘Talented Young Batsman’. It described Rohit’s journey from his rise in domestic cricket to exceptional performances in the later stages of his career.
Notably, the Nagpur-born cricketer made his debut in June 2007 in an ODI and was a part of India’s T20 World Cup winning squad, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2019 edition of the World Cup with 648 runs and has scored 550 runs in the 2023 season.
Speaking of their journey in the ongoing edition, India won all their matches and made it to the final by defeating New Zealand by a margin of 70 runs. On the other hand, Australia defeated South Africa by three wickets to make it to the ODI World Cup final for the eighth time.
