Tamim Iqbal, the former Bangladesh captain, has suffered a massive heart attack while playing in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match for Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club in BKSP in Savar on Monday, March 24. The 36-year-old is in a critical condition, and he has been currently hospitalised where he is understood to be undergoing an operation, and a ring will be placed in heart to save his life.
Notably, as per the report from Cricbuzz, Tamim Iqbal felt chest pain on the field during the DPL match while captaining Mohammedan Sporting Club, and it led to him receiving medical attention on the field. Shortly after, he was rushed to the nearby Fazilatunnesa Hospital for further evaluation where the situation became critical, and as of this writing, the doctors are treating him.

In his latest statement on the matter, the BCB chief Physician, Debashish Chowdhury said, “He complained of having chest pain and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was checked and underwent an ECG. There was a little problem and at times you cannot understand immediately (what the condition of the heart is).”
“In the first blood test, there was a problem. He said he was feeling uncomfortable and wanted to go back to Dhaka. An ambulance was called in and when he was returning to the field from the hospital, he felt a pain in his chest again. He was then brought to the hospital for the second time and it seemed he had a massive heart attack. Now he is under observation at Fazilatunnesa Hospital,” he added.
The report from the aforementioned website further stated that the several board directors of the BCB are currently headed to Savar to check on Tamim Iqbal.
