The long-awaited Tekken 8 finally has a release date and a new trailer, which were revealed at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event on August 22, 2023. The eighth installment of the popular fighting game series will launch on January 26, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The new trailer, which was introduced by Tekken creator Katsuhiro Harada, showcases some of the gameplay features and modes that Tekken 8 will offer. The game will feature 32 playable characters, including six new additions: Kuma, Leo, Shaheen, Steve, Dragunov, and Yoshimitsu 4. The trailer also highlights the return of some fan-favorite favorites such as Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Nina, Paul, and King.

The game began closed network testing for PlayStation 5 on July 21 and for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on July 28. Closed network tests will include cross-play. The game will also be available to play at select events worldwide. The game was available to play during the EVO 2023 event from August 4 to 6.  Tekken 8's release date has leaked hours before Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2023, and it's supposedly due in January 2024. The date was confirmed in the trailer and it is going to be released on January 26, 2024.

Tekken 8 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games of 2024 and the game promises to deliver a thrilling and immersive fighting experience that will appeal to both newcomers and veterans of the series. With stunning graphics, fluid gameplay, diverse characters, and innovative modes, Tekken 8 is set to take the fighting genre to the next level.
