Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has dropped a hint that he is in a relationship after 17 months of divorce from his former spouse Aesha Mukerji. Dhawan grabbed the limelight after getting spotted with a girl during India’s Champions Trophy 2025 opening match against Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20. Later it was revealed that the girl spotted with him was an Irish national named Sophie Shine. Dhawan was a brand ambassador of the marquee International Cricket Council (ICC) event held in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19 to March. After viewing Dhawan with Shine, cricket fans are eager to know whether both are in a relationship with each other.
In a recent development, the former India opener attended the 2025 Times Now Summit, where he was asked by an anchor who is his girlfriend and what’s her name? Replying to the question, Dhawan hesitated to tell the name, but alluded that he is in a relationship with Sophie. The 39-year-old said, "I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend." After Dhawan’s remark, the camera focused on Sophie, who marked her presence at the event.

During the summit, Dhawan also added that he is trying to be in touch with his son Zoravar, but couldn’t reach him as his former spouse Aesha has blocked him from all communication platforms. Zoravar is currently with his mother Aesha, who lives in Australia. Back in October 2023, the Delhi High Court granted a divorce to Dhawan on the grounds of mental cruelty.
Dhawan retired from all forms of cricket in August 2024. He served India from 2010 and 2022 and during his 12-year stint, he made a notable contribution to India’s Champions Trophy 2013 title win. The southpaw was the leading run-getter in the series and also got the player of the series award.
