One of the most iconic football matches took place on October 31, 2002. Stade Olympique de L'Emyrne (SOE) were set to face  A S Adema in Madagascar’s national league which turned out to be a record-breaking football game in history. Total 149 goals were scored in that game with all Stade Olympique de L'Emyrne scoring all the goals and winning the game by 149-0, which is still the most disastrous scorecard in a football game.

It is still the highest scoring game in the history of football. However it was more than a football contest at that time and was a kind of protest by SOE after they witnessed unfair officiating by the referee in a previous match. They gave no chance to AS Adema to score a single goal and went to smash 149 goals in a 90-minute long football game.

Stade Olympique were among the contenders to win the title that year, but due to controversial decisions by the referee in the previous match, they were knocked out from the title race. The players from SOE couldn’t do anything to reverse the decision. However, they took the matter in their own hands in the next match against AS Adema.

As soon as the match began. SOE players deliberately started kicking the ball into their net again and again. The AS Adema players felt helpless as they didn’t even get to hold the ball for a few seconds throughout the whole match. At the end of the match, SOE ended up scoring 149 goals. However, AS Adema went on to win the championship.
