In the second game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bagged two crucial points after beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 44 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Bowling first after winning the toss, RR captain Riyan Parag's decision backfired as SRH batters took advantage of conditions and hammered bowlers mercilessly. Opener Travis Head clobbered a rapid 67 off 31 balls but it was Ishan Kishan, who batted extraordinarily and scored his maiden century in just 45 deliveries. His unbeaten 106 off 47 took the Orange Army to 286/6, which has now become the second highest team total in the league.
Chasing the target, RR capitulated at a score of 242 and pacer Harshal Patel utilised his experience to contain the Pink Army. The speedster bagged 2/34 figures in his four-spell and became the best bowler for the hosts in the game. Rajasthan got the courageous innings of Sanju Samson (66 off 37) and Dhruv Jurel (70 off 35). Both knocks proved key for RR to narrow the margin of defeat. Kishan became the player of the match for his stunning innings. SRH will strive to continue their excellent work against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who will be travelling to Hyderabad for the encounter on March 27. Rajasthan will be hosting KKR on March 26 in Guwahati and they will endeavour to showcase their best and win their first game in the season.
