The Indian cricket team is set to lock horns with Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series starting on January 11, Thursday in Mohali. Ahead of the first T20I, Rahul Dravid’s men were seen practicing in chilly weather season at the IS Bindra Cricket Stadium. India’s newly discovered talent Arshdeep Singh saw the lighter side of the situation as the the Men in Blue battled cold to sharpen their skills before they host the Afghans in the series opener.
In a video posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian cricket team was seen honing up their craft in shivery weather conditions. As the Men in Blue were struggling with the extreme weather conditions in their winter apparel, the young speedster of the Indian team, Arshdeep Singh was seen in a half-sleeve shirt. The 25-year-old sarcastically said, Kaafi garmi lag rahi hai yaar tabhi half sleeves mein ghoom raha hoon” ( It's pretty hot, hence, I am in half sleeves.)
Singh added, “Thodi si thand hoti toh achha lagta (Wish it was a bit cooler than what it is).” Not only this, but the video also featured batter Shubman Gill who said, "Not that cold, huh? Actually, it's very cold. I think it would be around 7 degrees. I just keep my hands in my pocket but I would not advise that unless you have hand warmers in your pocket.
India’s young finisher Rinku Singh could be seen saying in the video, "Bhai sahab bahut thand hai. Dekho abhi main domestic ka match khel ke aaya hoon Kerala mein. Wahan par aisi garmi this, May-June waali (It's very cold. I came back from Kerala after playing a domestic game and it was extremely hot out there).”
