The mascot for the 2024 European Championship in Germany has been confirmed to be a teddy bear. To avoid the controversy of the 2006 World Cup mascot's naked appearance, the teddy bear will be thoroughly dressed this time.

The new mascot has a big head and adorable big eyes, but most significantly, it can be seen wearing pants. The teddy bear mascot also dons a full football kit, which consists of jersey, socks and boots, in addition to the pants.

“👋 Say hallo to the #EURO2024 mascot! The cute teddy bear aims to inspire 10 million children across Europe to get active, challenging pupils to #MakeMoves”, read the post on official Twitter handle of the UEFA EURO 2024.

The logo bears reference to the well-known teddy bear toy for children, which is thought to have originated in Germany in the early 20th century. By beginning its #MakeMoves adventure in schools and asking students to utilise their own physical activity to spark the mascot into life and make it move, it intends to motivate 10 million kids in Europe to become more active.

The mascot will begin its #MakeMoves trip in classrooms all throughout Europe, posing a challenge to students to utilise their own physical activity to animate and move the mascot.

The authorities have shortlisted four names, which are Albärt, Bärnardo, Bärnheart and Herzi von Bär. Each name has a special meaning with the one gaining maximum votes will get the name of the mascot. The poll for the same will be active till Monday, July 3 on the official UEFA website.
