Former UFC fighter Phil Baroni has been arrested in Mexico for murdering his girlfriend in a hotel room. The UFC star has been charged with homicide for this crime.

According to a report first published by Tribuna De La Bahia, the former star engaged in an argument inside a hotel room in San Pancho when the incident took place. The report further claimed, “Baroni beat his girlfriend, a Mexico City native, to death in San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico. He alleges he threw her inside the shower with force after she told him she had cheated where she hit her head and passed away minutes later.”
It is also being reported that Baroni was reportedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol at that time when the pair got into an argument after his girlfriend admitted cheating on him.
'The New York Badass' was seen in the rings between 2001 and 2005 before signing with Japan’s PRIDE Fighting Championship. His final bout in the MMA came in September 2019 where he lost to China’s Sai Wang via a first-round submission.
