Indian captain Rohit Sharma had a special message before hitting England's spinner Liam Livingstone for a six in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024. Playing at the Providence Stadium in Georgetown, Team India was asked to bat first and struggled initially in rain-affected conditions.

After losing Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant cheaply, the Hitman built a vital partnership with Surya kumar Yadav to bring India back into the game. The duo played a few aggressive shots to keep the run rate up and took the spinners after the rain break.

Later it was revealed that Sharma had a conversation with Suryakumar Yadav which was picked up on the stump mic. The Hitman was heard saying, " Upar dale toh deta hu na" (Translation: If pitches the ball up, I will slog it).

We don't want to think too far ahead, stay in the moment: Rohit Sharma

Ahead of the game, Rohit Sharma spoke about how he and his team are focused on staying in the moment and playing their best cricket. At the toss, Sharma said,  "We would have batted first, the weather looks good, whatever had to happen, it has already happened. We wanted to put runs on the board. The pitch tends to get slower as the game goes on."

"We understand the challenge of playing a tournament like this, a lot of travel and logistics. It's a chance to play some good cricket. We don't want to think too far ahead, stay in the moment and let your game do the talking. Same team for us."
