Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat had a disappointing end to her memorable campaign in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She made it into the final of the Women’s 50 kg wrestling after defeating Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman by 5-0 in the semi-final and almost secured a medal for India. However, Vinesh was disqualified after being overweight by just 100 grams ahead of the final and her dream for the Olympic medal was shattered. 

However, despite losing a medal, Vinesh Phogat received immense support from fans all over India. Her rising popularity has also benefited her in terms of brand deals and promotions. Earlier, Vinesh Phogat used to charge around ₹25 Lakhs for a single brand endorsement. Now there has been immense growth in her brand value as she will now demand ₹75 Lakhs to ₹1 Crore for a single brand endorsement.

Apart from Vinesh Phogat, India’s other two stars in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Neeraj Chopra and Manu Bhaker have also increased their brand value. Neeraj Chopra failed to defend his gold medal but was the only Indian athlete to beg silver this year. His brand value has been increased by 30% to 40% which is now around ₹330 Crore. 

Apart from that, shooter Manu Bhaker also received several brand deals after her successful Olympics campaign. She begged ₹1.5 Crore deal from Thumbs Up and will be charging around ₹25 Lakhs for a single brand deal. Manu Bhaker won two bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics and became the only Indian athlete to win a two medal in a single Olympics campaign.
