Former Indian captain and talismanic batter, Virat Kohli, engaged in a hilarious chat with paparazzi as he landed in Mumbai. Notably, after a successful red-ball assignment against neighbours Bangladesh, India are set to host New Zealand for a three-match Test series, starting on October 16. While Kohli failed to perform in the Chennai Test, he came up with 47 runs off 35 balls and remained unbeaten on 29 runs in the Kanpur Test.
Ahead of the next assignment, Kohli was seen enjoying some off time in Mumbai. As Kohli was spotted at Mumbai airport, he was seen interacting with paparazzi and fans while making his way to the car. When he was about to enter his car, a paparazzi told him to set the BGT stage on fire in Australia.
BGT mei aag lagani hai: Paparazzi makes hilarious request to Kohli, latter’s response goes viral
While Kohli was making his way out of the airport towards his car, a paparazzi told him to set the BGT stage on fire in Aussie land. The pap said, “BGT mei aag lagani hai (Set BGT stage on fire).” To this, Kohli came with a surprised reaction and asked, “Kisme (In what). The paparazzi then said, “BGT mein (Border Gavaskar Trophy)”. Virat Kohli then nodded and got inside the car.
While Kohli is expected to remain fully available for the BGT assignment, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma could miss one of the first two Tests due to a personal reason. The Border Gavaskar series between India and Australia will begin on November 22 with the first Test being played in Perth.
