The Men in Blue fixed their berth in the Asia Cup 2023 final for the 11 th time in the history of the continental tournament. The side which took the field for the third consecutive day in the tournament saw them register a comfortable 41-run win, ending Sri Lanka’s 13-match winning streak and solidify their spot at the top of the Super 4s points table.

Talking about the match, India put up 213-run on the board with the top order falling to Dunith Wellalage’s spin. The innings saw a brief halt as rain came into play in this match also, but it resumed shortly, with a full match on the cards. However, it was the Indian bowlers, who starred with their brilliance on the field as they restricted the co-hosts to 172 in 41.3 overs.

The former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who is often seen enjoying his time on the field, an instance of the same was once again visible in the match against Sri Lanka. The Indian batter was spotted shaking a leg on super-hit Bollywood single from Chennai Express, ‘Lungi Dance’ during the Sri Lanka innings. The video of this moment is now going viral on social media.
Additionally, with India’s win over Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh have been knocked out of the Asia Cup final picture. The second finalist will be decided when Pakistan takes on Sri Lanka as the winner here takes the final spot. The tournament which has reached its final leg, will see India take on Bangladesh next on Thursday, 15th September with the final scheduled for Sunday, 17 th September.
