After Shubman Gill’s second Test century and first against Australia on Day 3 of the ongoing Test, Virat Kohli also entered record books. Not only did Kohli complete 4000 Test runs at home, he also scored his first fifty in Tests since January 2022.

On the third day of the ongoing Test, in the 93rd over, Virat Kohli got a gentle nudge and completed his half-century to go past Brain Lara. However, there was some drama to his fifty. The on-field umpire Nitin Menon reckoned that Kohli was a run-short of his half-century at the bowlers and thus went to the big screen for a recap.
After the confirmation, the former India skipper then raised his arms and celebrated his well-made fifty as the umpire confirmed that it wasn’t a short run.

At the end of Day 3 of the ongoing Test, India trails by 191 runs. With Kohli looking strong after his first fifty in 14 months, he has been well supported by Ravindra Jadeja (16) on the other end.
