Virat Kohli, the star batter for Team India, has reached the city of London to play the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2021-23. He is expected to feature in India’s first XI as they will go head-head against Australia in the summit clash of Test cricket, beginning on June 7 at The Oval.
Earlier on May 26, the Delhi-born cricketer took to Instagram to post a story, which was a selfie with the caption, “London Mornings,” including a love emoji and sun emoji, to signify that he is having a beautiful start to the day. Notably, Kohli recently crossed the extraordinary mark of 250 million followers on Instagram, which makes him one of the most well-recognised social media personalities in the world.
Recently, the 34-year-old cricketing superstar took part in the grueling two-month long Indian Premier League 2023 season for Royal Challengers Bangalore. During his time as the opening batter for the side, Virat Kohli competed in 14 matches for RCB in which he scored 639 runs at an average of 53.29 and strike-rate of 139.82, including two back-to-back hundreds and six fifties.
Talking about the recent exploits of the former Indian captain in Test cricket, he scored a century in nearly three years in the format against Australia. In the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Kohli managed to bat for 517 minutes across six sessions, to compile 186 runs in 364 deliveries with 15 fours to his tally.
Across four Test matches against the Aussies at home, Virat Kohli got 297 runs in six innings at an average of 49.50, to finish the BGT as the second highest run scorer among both teams. He will be looking to make a telling impact with the bat against Australia to help India secure the WTC title and end their 10-year drought for an ICC trophy.
