2. Scoring Century in a debut World Cup match:
Virat Kohli remains to be the only Indian player to smash a century in their debut WC innings. Shubman Gill can join the list later by scoring a century against Australia at Chennai on 8th October.
Virat Kohli scored 282 runs in the 2011 World Cup edition, and later in the 2015 edition he scored 305 runs with the bat, and in the 2019 WC edition, he ended up scoring 443 runs from 9 matches respectively. Shubman Gill could score more than 500 runs in this WC 2023 edition which Kohli never did in his career so far.
