There were reports that Saroj’s health was the reason being Kohli’s withdrawal from the first two Tests against England.
On his Instagram story, Vikas wrote, "I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom's health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also, I would request everyone, and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern.” Notably, there were rumours that their mother’s health condition is serious, and she hadn’t been keeping up well for the past few days.
They missed Virat Kohli's captaincy: Michael Vaughan after India’s loss
Former England captain Micahel Vaughan said that India is currently missing Virat Kohli’s captaincy in the game's longest format. Vaughan believed that India wouldn’t have lost the first Test against the English side if Kohli had been the captain.
While critically analysing Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Vaughan said on the YouTube channel 'Club Prairie Fire', "They missed Virat Kohli's captaincy massively in Test cricket. Under Virat's captaincy that week, India wouldn't have lost the game. Rohit is a legend and a great player. But I felt he just switched off completely.”
Not only this but in one of his columns for The Telegraph, Vaughan wrote, "I thought Rohit Sharma's captaincy was very, very average. I thought he was so reactive, I don’t think he maneuvered his field or was proactive with his bowling changes. And he didn’t have any answer to Ollie Pope’s sweeps or reverse sweeps.”
