Former India cricketer and the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), VVS Laxman is all set to travel with Team India for the T20I series against South Africa. According to the reports quoting Cricbuzz, Laxman will be the head coach in the white-ball tour of South Africa with Gautam Gambhir being with the Indian team for their five-match Test series against Australia.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India is set to travel to South Africa to play four-match T20I series, starting from November 8. While the first T20I is set to be played on November 8 in Durban, followed by a match each in Gqeberha (November 10), Centurion (November 13) and Johannesburg (November 15).
Laxman to be accompanied by working coaches from NCA for South Africa tour
As the Indian team is set to leave for the Rainbow nation tour on November 4, VVS Laxman will be joined by the staff and other coaches working at the NCA in Bengaluru. Laxman will be joined by the likes of Sairaj Bahutule, Hrishikesh Kantikar and Subhadeep Ghosh. The three were recently part of the India Emerging side in their recently concluded campaign at Asia Cup Men's Emerging Team 2024.
On the other hand, the Gautam Gambhir-led coaching staff of the Indian men’s senior team is set to leave for Australia on November 10-11 for the highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, set to commence from November 22 in Perth.
