Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan, two of the former cricketers for India and England respectively, have become well-known for their hilarious banter on Twitter in recent years. They often comment on the tweets of each other to troll and get a hearty laugh out of their interactions, while providing fans a show on the microblogging site.
On June 7, Wednesday, when Travis Head got to his sixth Test hundred on Day 1 of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023, Michael Vaughan trolled Wasim Jaffer by reminding him about how the Indian bowlers let the Australian get a big score with such ease. It was Rohit Sharma, the captain of Team India, who put Australia into bat at The Oval on the first morning, but his decision was proven wrong as the opposition got 327/3 at stumps.
In response to Michael Vaughan tweet, Wasim Jaffer took a sly dig at him about having no blue tick on his official Twitter account. His tweet read, “Evening Michael If that’s really you #WheresYourBlueTick #WTCFinal”.
Shortly afterwards, Michael Vaughan fired back at Wasim Jaffer with a tweet of his own, accompanied with a thumbs up video, which read, “No need for a blue Tick Wasim”
Meanwhile, apart from Travis Head’s theatrics on day 1 at The Oval in London, Steve Smith also compiled an innings of substance too. At stumps, Head was 146 not out, while Smith was unbeaten at 95. They have both put together a massive partnership of 251 runs to put the Australians in command against the Indians.
