In the main event of UFC 300, the Brazilian Alex Pereira knocked out his American counterpart Jamahal Hill in round one, to retain the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, and hit a “Khaby” on him. Just seconds before delivering the killer left hook to Jamahal Hill’s face, Alex Pereira had waved off the referee Herb Dean after his opponent strayed low.
During the build-up to the big fight, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jamahal Hill, talked a lot of trash to Alex Pereira, who had preferred to keep himself largely uninvolved in the war of words. But when it came down to fighting inside the octagon at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the Brazilian MMA fighter was up for the challenge, and he settled his score with Jamahal Hill.
After a patient start from both Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill to their championship match in the first minute of round one, the intensity picked up steadily. They continued chopping at each other’s legs before a body shot from Pereira was met with a head kick in return.
When Jamahal Hill strayed low, the referee Herb Dean wanted to get involved but Alex Pereira waved him off before landing a killer left hook on his opponent. Hill was somehow still conscious but Pereira finished him off seconds later with vicious hammerfists.
Moments after retaining his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, Alex Pereira paid tribute to the famed Italian TikToker Khaby Lame, hitting the “Khaby” on Jamahal Hill for good measure. This was the Brazilian MMA fighter’s way of putting an end to the trash-talking from Jamahal Hill during their fight build-up.
