Croatian footballer Ana Maria Markovic met her idol and Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo. Not only this, but they also hit Ronaldo’s trademark goal celebration ‘Siuu’. Markovic, who plays as a forward in the Swiss Women's Super League club Grasshopper, was featured alongside Ronaldo in an advertisement. Markovic has often spoken about her love for the Al-Nassr football star and expressed the desire to meet him.
Ronaldo, the face of the cryptocurrency platform Binance for about two years, fulfilled Maria’s wish through an advertisement. The 24-year-old, often regarded as the world’s 'most beautiful footballer’, not only met the five-time Ballon d’Or winner but also hit the classic Ronaldo celebration. Maria, who has a following of over 3 million on Instagram, posted the video on her social media platforms.
She captioned the video, “I can‘t believe it! SIIIMMM”. The video has been doing rounds on social media since posted. Notably, Maria has repeatedly spoken about how much she admires Ronaldo. In November 2023, she announced meeting Ronaldo on her social media. She wrote, “Hi Guys, Oh my God, I have exciting news, I will meet Cristiano Ronaldo. I am beyond excited that I cannot explain it.”
Another video of the two footballers has gone viral on social media, where the Portuguese legend and Croatian women's forward posed with a fan for a picture. Ana also shared the tweet and tagged Cristiano.

Earlier, when she was asked to choose between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, she said, “Cristiano for me is the best. I respect everyone’s opinion." Regarding their current schedules, the 38-year-old is on a break as the Saudi Pro League has broken due to the AFC Asian Cup. Maria, on the other hand, will return to the club on February 11 as her club takes on Zurich in the Swedish Super League Women.
