Andy Murray, the three-time Grand Slam champion and double Olympic gold medallist, is an avid football fan and a regular Fantasy Premier League player. The tennis star, who is an avid FPL player and a fan of Arsenal, has picked Manchester City’s Erling Haaland as his first name in his squad.

The 36-year-old is an active personality on social media, regularly voicing his fandom for other sports as well as his competitors in tennis. Notably, Murray is an avid FPL player and regularly posts his teams on social media.

In a quick Q&A session with the FPL, Murray was also asked which he would prefer to win, the Wimbledon, the FPL, or the Olympic Gold to which he answered with a smile, "Err, I would probably go Wimbledon, but it's tight between the three of them."

When asked about his first name on his FPL team, the two-time Wimbledon Champion quickly answered, "I mean it’s got to be Halaand again, for me, Yeah I mean the guy is an absolute goal machine so I would probably say him, but Kane is not far behind." The tennis ace was also asked about his best tennis finish to which Murray said that he finished in the top 100,000 once which was pretty good for him.

Haaland, who joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, is the most expensive and the most owned player in FPL this season. The Norwegian striker costs £11.5m and is in 54.1% of FPL teams. The striker scored 52 goals and assisted nine in all competitions last season and is expected to be a prolific source of points in the Premier League the next season. Meanwhile, Murray is vying for his third Wimbledon title and beat Ryan Penniston in his first round and will look to push on.
