With around 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Angel Di Maria increased Argentina's lead to two goals over defending champions France with his commendable finish. But, an Argentina goal without Messi's involvement is quiet impossible.

Technically, Alexis Mac Allister commenced the move by passing the ball to Messi, who picked Julian Alvarez in the midfield with a through ball. The Manchester City forward saw Alexis Mac Allister's run and produced a beautiful pass. However, it was the 23-year-old midfielder's selfless play that helped Di Maria to take Argentina on a two-goal lead in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final against France.
