Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma finally got his form back in IPL 2025 as left-hander smashed 141(54) runs as SRH achieved the second highest successful run chase in IPL history, chasing a target of 246 runs against Punjab Kings at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Abhishek fully capitalized on the lifeline that he got on a no ball by Yash Thakur and went on to complete his first fifty of the season in just 19 balls.
However, Abhishek Sharma didn’t even stop there and went on to reach his first-ever hundred in just 40 balls as SRH were all over PBKS bowlers. Batting first, PBKS posted a mammoth 245/6 in their 20 overs. Skipper Shreyas Iyer played a captain’s knock of 82(36) runs. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran also contributed with 36(13) runs 42(23) respectively while Marcus Stoinis gave finishing touches with a quickfire 34*(11) runs.

Chasing the winning target, SRH got a flying start as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma put up an opening partnership of 171 runs in just 12.2 overs. Head got out after scoring 66 runs off 37 balls hitting nine fours and three sixes. After that, Abhishek went on to complete his maiden IPL hundred in just 40 balls and came up with his unique chit celebration which wrote “This is for my Orange Army.”
Abhishek Sharma couldn’t finish the game for SRH as he got out in the 17th over after smashing 141 runs off 55 balls hitting 14 fours and 10 sixes. However, the match had already far away from PBKS at that point. After that, Heinrich Klaasen (21* off 14) and Ishan Kishan (9* off 6) gave finishing touches as SRH chased the winning target in just 18.3 overs losing two wickets.
