Left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh has certainly grabbed some eyeballs in the last few months playing white-ball cricket for India. But transitioning to the red-ball, Singh has picked up his first wicket for Kent in the ongoing match against Surrey on his County cricket debut. He recently joined the County side on a five-match contract in the hunt for red ball experience.
Singh removed England wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Foakes with an inswinging delivery in the 22nd over of the innings. The left-arm seamer trapped him on the back foot and celebrated his maiden wicket with a fist pump and a smile as he was congratulated by his teammates.

This dismissal was also remarkably similar to his first World Cup scalp as he sent back Pakistan captain Babar Azam packing. Talking about his international career, Arshdeep has been a part of 26 T20I matches and has picked up 41 wickets at an average of 17.78. In his seven first-class games, he has 25 wickets with an average of 23.84 including one fifer.
Kent is currently ninth in the county circuit with just 43 points in six games but they are currently dominating the table toppers as they have reduced Surrey to 60-6 in 27 overs in the second innings with Arshdeep's figures being 1/12 in 10 overs bowled so far. After joining Kent, Arshdeep expressed his excitement to play for the team, he said, “I am excited to be a part of Kent. I will look to take wickets for my new team. Rahul Dravid told me that it’s a big club with a great history.”
