After India bowled out England for 218 on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test match, Ravichandran Ashwin was spotted insisting Kuldeep Yadav to lead the team off in a heartwarming gesture. The pairing of Ashwin and Kuldeep shared nine out of 10 English wickets in one of the finest opening-day spin bowling performances from India at home.

In the video posted by the BCCI on their official X account, Kuldeep Yadav first tossed the match ball to Ravichandran Ashwin, asking the senior bowler to lead the Indian cricket team off the ground in his 100th Test after taking four wickets in the England innings. But, Ravichandran Ashwin was adamant that the younger spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who had picked up a five-for, do the honours instead, handing him the match ball before walking off the ground behind him.

During the England innings on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test, the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, was spotted hilariously moving around Sarfaraz Khan in the field at the short leg region, to place him at the exact fielding spot that he wanted to. Notably, India did manage to bowl England out for 218 runs in the first innings.

In response to England’s below-par total, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a fantastic start at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala. After the first 15 overs in their innings, India are currently 72/0, with Rohit Sharma at the crease on 39 off just 48, while Jaiswal has got 33 off just 42 alongside him.
