Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is widely known for his fierce aggression and the guy who easily loses his cool. After expressing his frustration at umpires, and spectators, the 27-year-old vented out his anger and disappointment on his racket after going down to Russia's Karen Khachanov in five sets in the US Open quarterfinals.
The Russian tennis player Khachanov triumphed 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (3/7), 6-4 over the Wimbledon runner-up to make the last four at a major for the first time. After facing the defeat, Kyrgios smashed his tennis racquet on the ground before throwing it down with force. "I feel like I have let so many people down. I feel like these four tournaments are the only ones that ever are going to matter. It’s just like you have got to start it all again. I have to wait until the Australian Open," said Kyrgios after the match.
The Australian further claimed that result is devastating, and heartbreaking for him as he wanted to win the game for everyone who were vouching for him. "I am shattered with the loss. There were so many people who were cheering for me and wanted to me do well, but I have once again let them down. But credit goes to Karen. He is a fighter and a warrior. Showed great potential to do well ahead in the tournament.
